Nonwoven fabrics, which form the basis of hygiene products, are critical parts that come into direct contact with human skin. Every layer, from the topsheet surface to the backsheet liquid barrier, and from the core wrap layer to the leg cuff protectors, demands special technical standards. Our OekoTex certified PP Spunbond fabrics successfully meet these demanding requirements with their soft texture, perfect surface uniformity, and high absorption performance.
Each hygiene product is composed of a combination of numerous nonwoven fabric layers, each with its own unique functions.
The hygiene sector is the leader in global nonwoven consumption. In baby diaper production processes, more than 5 different nonwoven layers are preferred in a single product, and each has its own unique weight, texture, liquid permeability, and mechanical durability values.
Hydrophilic soft fabrics used in the topsheet layer ensure that liquid is quickly transferred to the absorbent zone. Hydrophobic fabrics preferred in the backsheet layer prevent liquid leaks. In leg cuff barriers, flexibility and liquid retention capability are at the forefront. Core wrap fabrics stabilize the absorbent core while allowing liquid transfer. We produce all these layers with different weights, applications, and widths.

The topsheet is the top surface of the hygiene product that touches the skin; it is hydrophilically treated to quickly transfer liquid to the absorbent core and provide a dry feeling on the surface. The backsheet is the bottom surface of the product; it is a barrier layer with hydrophobic properties that prevents liquid from leaking out. The two layers complement each other to form the core function of the hygiene product.
The basis weights used in baby diaper components vary according to the layer. Ranges of 10–15 gsm for the topsheet, 12–20 gsm for the backsheet, 15–22 gsm for the leg cuff barrier, and 10–16 gsm for the core wrap are generally preferred. Basis weight optimization can be performed with our technical team according to specific project requirements.
A soft touch is achieved through a combination of fine denier filament usage, special calender pattern selection, and finishing applications. Our fabrics, which offer high opacity and a silky feel even at low basis weights, meet the requirements of premium-class hygiene products. Our OekoTex certificate guarantees the skin safety of these fabrics.
